Account Manager - Custom Cartons

Custom Cartons, is part of the Detmold Group, a leading manufacturer of paper and board packaging products with 6 manufacturing locations and over 22 sales offices in 15 countries.   

Custom Cartons service the growing demand for small run cartons in Australia and offer an extensive range of products including corrugated cartons, promotional displays and packaging.

We are seeking an achievement focused Sales professional to continue to build the market for Custom Cartons range of products. 

Reporting directly to the General Manager, and working closely with a dedicated Sales team, this position will maintain a dual focus on continuing service/selling to an existing customer base; as well as developing new business opportunities. 

OVERVIEW OF DUTIES:

Execution

  • Achievement of sales budgets
  • Achievement of new business & retained sales targets
  • Achievement of key milestones and business growth targets

Account Management

  • Drive growth, range and product expansion of existing accounts
  • Manage key relationships to ensure professional and credible representation of the brand
  • Develop and implement Account Plans and conduct regular business reviews against objectives for all customers

Business Development

  • Identify, qualify and sell to identified customers and prospects, focusing on product/market applications
  • Plan and clearly execute sales activity to drive increased penetration of the product and/or services into new market segments

Customer Service

  • Recommend products to customers and provide estimates/quote prices
  • Provide technical support and advice across range of product

Operational Activities

  • Provide reports of activity as required, including for example market activity, sales pipeline, opportunity progress and conversion and business at risk
  • Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales
  • Accurately maintain and update customer relationship management records within the designated CRM system

 

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS POSTION, YOU WILL REQUIRE:

  • Proven account management, field sales achievement and executing against clear sales plans (including cold calling)
  • Passion for sales and customer management
  • High levels of personal drive, energy and resilience
  • Ability to working professionally, whilst under pressure, in competitive situations
  • Strong willingness and capacity to learn
  • Experience in Packaging, FMCG, distribution or similar a industry an advantage
