Quality Control Officers

The Detmold Group is a leading manufacturer of specialised paper and board packaging products. Recently the Detmold Group have partnered with the State and Federal Governments to manufacture medical masks and are rapidly establishing Detmold Medical a local manufacturing facility to ensure supplies for our primary health care workers.

As a result of this investment in local manufacturing we require experienced Quality Control Officers to join us on a 12-month contract basis.

Initially our new operations will operate across 3 shifts, and the Quality Control Officers will participate in the phased ramp up of production over the next two months to achieve full scale production across all the shifts. You will assist in the design and implementation of quality processes and procedures to ensure Detmold Medical’s Quality Management Systems are generated and maintained as required and comply with required standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting in-process and finished product inspections
  • Performing sampling and inspections on incoming materials
  • Recording test and inspection results, and preparing reports
  • Assisting with internal audits and in non-conformance investigations
  • Assisting with the preparation of standard operating procedures and work instructions
  • Conduct coaching, training and competency assessment of production personnel in accordance with work instructions

Working in this fast-paced environment, you will ideally possess the following:

  • Knowledge of quality standards, inspection tools and techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage across multiple stakeholders
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel
  • An analytical and logical thought process coupled with strong attention to detail.
  • A high level of personal accountability and quality orientation
  • Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment, medical devices and GMP experience is desirable.
