About LaunchPad

LaunchPad is the Detmold Group’s centre for research and development, concept creation and rapid prototyping in packaging. With a dedicated team of graphic and industrial designers and technical paper and board product experts, the LaunchPad team have expanded our capabilities in researching and developing concepts and rapid prototypes in packaging.

About You

We are now seeking a casual Design student to join this team and utilise their skills and design flair while gaining hands-on industry experience.  You will be part of our broader marketing team and will provide support on the development of new designs and printed product samples. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing high-quality paper and board packaging samples for customers
  • Creating and manipulating 2D and 3D CAD files
  • Supporting the development of new designs and making alterations to existing designs
  • Operating the Kongsberg cutting table and the 3D printers to produce samples
  • Undertaking product testing using relevant equipment and producing testing reports

The successful applicant must be capable of working independently and at a fast pace whilst maintaining high quality standards. Additionally, you will be technologically savvy and have the ability, with training, to create 3D models from 2D concepts.  Furthermore, strong communication skills and a customer service mindset will hold you in good stead.

Please Note: This is a casual position with flexible working hours of around 10–20 hours per week spread over 4-5 days. This is a great opportunity to develop your professional skills while studying and gain hands-on experience working for an industry leading international company.  

Applicants currently studying either a Bachelor of Industrial Design or Design and Technology Innovation will be highly regarded.
