Detmold Medical has recently been established by the Detmold Group as a result of a partnership with the State and Federal Governments to manufacture medical masks (PPE). Detmold Medical has set up a new manufacturing facility to ensure supplies for our primary health care workers.
A new 12-month full time contract opportunity has been created for a self-driven, and experienced Materials and Product Testing Technician to join our team. This hands-on role reports to the Quality Manager, and will conduct testing on raw materials and in-process and finished products as part of our quality control processes. Testing includes; tensile strength, synthetic blood penetration, airflow resistance and differential pressure, and particle filtration efficiency.
Furthermore this role will;
- Prepare test reports and trend analysis
- Coordinate the submission of samples with external testing facilities, compile and interpret test reports and outcomes of external testing
- Be required to develop a strong understanding of test / performance requirements relating to single use respirators and medical masks (PPE), and will collaborate with the QC team to develop sampling plans.
- Maintain and manage the laboratory, including coordinating the calibration of equipment, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting, stock control and ordering of consumables.
- Review and update test methods and related documents
Candidates will possess the following;
- Strong and professional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage across multiple stakeholders
- Great organisational skills, focus, diligence with strong attention to detail
- Solid computer and systems skills with proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word
- Relevant qualifications in Science, Engineering or similar and previous relevant testing / laboratory experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment are desirable
- Experience and understanding of test method development
