Production Manager

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an operational leader to join our Paper Manufacturing Plant in Adelaide. Reporting to the Operations Manager Australia, the Production Manager is responsible for ensuring production targets are achieved including the production schedule, product quality standards, efficiency, workforce training, management and engagement, safety, quality and all other requirements of the production process.

This is a hands-on role which will see you highly visible on the shop floor in the day to day running of production.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Day to day management of the production process, monitoring production schedules to meet customer delivery targets
  • Providing leadership that will challenge, develop, and inspire teams to focus on improvement across all areas of performance, and to deliver on agreed outcomes and objectives
  • Achieving planned production levels and delivering optimal efficiency, and minimising costs, whilst maintaining all quality standards
  • Creating the optimal use of people and resources in production
  • Proactively leading a culture of safety and compliance
  • Liaising with internal and external service providers and suppliers

About You

Working within this fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will ideally possess the following:

  • Demonstrated success in a similar production/operational management role in a complex and high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead, manage and develop people, in order to manage work and resources across a range of tasks
  • A sound understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives
  • You know your numbers and have proven ability to develop executable improvement plans
  • Customer-focused and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to energise, engage and inspire others around common goals and values
  • A natural problem solver, highly organised and collaborative, with an adaptable work style
  • A qualification in a Mechanical Engineering or Business discipline is desirable

Your natural ability to foster relationships and ability to communicate effectively and influence at all levels of the organisation will place you well for this role.
